I have a gay friend. Let me explain. Dave and I have been emailing back and forth and talking on the phone about politics a lot. We are both democrats. Well one day we were talking a little more personal and he asked me if I had children and I said no, ,my wife and I have no kids. Then I asked him if he had kids and there was silence on the other end of the phone for a good 10 seconds and then he say NOOOO and another long pause and he said I am gay. Well, to tell you the truth, I suspeccted Dave was gay by the way he said things, but not being a gossip, I did not ask anyone because who cares. Back to the conversation, Dave said he was unapologetic of outing himself and I told him that he was still a friend and I did not care if he was gay or not. I told him it doesn't matter to me. So we have gotten to be better friends and I know it was very important to him to admit his sexual orientation and I am happy he felt comfortable enough to tell me. He is a good guy and we have never met each other. We are only friends over the phone as we work at the same company, just in distant cities. We have a good friendship and I sometimes say off color men type jokes to just get him to laugh. I treasure my friendship with Dave.
