I think it is possible to have lots of things around but not necessary to feel you own them - as unshakable says they are on loan.

For me the answer is simple - security of being comes from a sense of hara developed from martial arts which is our vital physical centre of gravity and deeper spirituality.

Being earthed with a good flow of ki or universal energy gives an inner security and grounding which connects to the outer world and is not separate from it.The layers of physical, mental and emotional activity function simultaneously so the physical base supports the whole.

I think we all need a sense of feeling secure. The sense of security means different things to different people and it has the posibility to change at any given moment. Alot us think of security as an outward experience, but rich and poor alike feel lack of sercuity. The sense of security comes from within, which can be hard if what you see on the outside doesnt match the sercuity you feel inside. How do you align yourself to feel totally secure inside while experiencing the same feeling in your outward life, if they dont match?

We came with nothing and go home with nothing.Everything we possessed on earth is on loan to us and if we manage them well we will have abundance to spread around.

Yes Breezeann - I really like the phrase ' gifted with everything' Its so easy for us to forget and feel separated from that sharing of universal energy.

I couldn't agree more about the "owning" statements. I've always believed that we own nothing in this life, but we are gifted with everything. I think the problems start when people begin to believe they own people, animals, or parts of the world that were here long before and will be here long after they're gone. I like AmberRays's statement about shared energy. That's how I envision all living things.

AmberRays yes, I agree - I once planted seeds when I was in a foul mood and nothing grew!

Abooklover - yes, good point that connection between body and mind, clearing out the mental attic!

I agree with you on the owning statement. A fellow gardener and natural lover myself, I know the feeling....it is indeed not something we own. I like to think that no matter how much we plant and work hard at nurturing it, we are part of it. We are part of nature and as we nurture we put more of ourselves and our souls into it. It has been proven that when we talk and care for our plants and trees possitively, they thrive. and in return they make us feel better and uplifted. It's a shared energy that goes back and forth and that grows within us.
