Promise You Won't Tell!

The Go-Go's

Cash Cab

American cheese

Bamboozling telemarketers by being inappropriately friendly

Playing Sun Ra CDs when I go through the drive-in teller window at the bank

Disliking a movie more than I actually dislike it in order to justify the pleasure I take in writing a really scathing review.

Using words that are blatantly out of fashion like Zounds and Gadzooks and placing undue emphasis on them when I do.

Telling people I hate my boss and then pointing out that I'm self-employed.

Indeed. Cash Cab would be perfect for you - you could dazzle your grandkids with voluminous knowlwedge.

I'm good at trivia, if it can be pre recorded.....;-}

Guilty pleasure #1: EP

It's a tv show. There's a cab in NYC that's a game show. The driver asks the riders trivia questions, if they get them right, they win cash.

I love stupid people, which works out well for me, because there are so many of them. I've also known many exceptionally smart people who have managed to do astoundingly stupid things over the years - some of them I know quite well.

Marji - With the telemarketers. I'm talking about totally destroying their rhythm and intensity by taking it to them - asking them questions. "Hey, thanks for calling! This is great! How you feeling today? What's the weather like where you are? What can I do to make this sales call go more smoothly for you?" It's diabolical! You can have them so confused and flustered that they don't even notice when you hang up. Plus, if you've got a passive/aggressive bone in your body, it's a really sneaky way to work out your anger.

Perhaps it's just human. I attempt to be fair to everybody - clearly I don't succeed. Are you encouraging me to mug the EPeeps that rub me the wrong way and spoil the EPeeps I like? I mean, every once in a while I'll stumble over a statement so outrageous I just can't ignore it.

What a cute comment coming from you, Meggers17. I think you know exactly what I'm talking about.
