Still Pregnant One Week After Ectopic

I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy resulting in emergency surgery one week ago and have just done home preg test showing positive.
Do I still have hormones in my system, or ...,,?

After having emergency surgery to remove an ectopic pregnancy your physician should be getting your hcg levels tested on a weekly basis until they are zero, this means there is no pregnancy tissue in your system. This can take up to 2 months to get your level down to zero. Pregnancy tests show a positive when HCG is detected in your urine, it will be detectable for quite sometime. What you need to check is your levels and make sure they are going down....not up.This can only be done with a blood test, not an at home pregnancy test. Takecare of yourself.

Wow.... Yes I will wait a few days and test again. I am very sore and bruised from the surgery and have had 2 prior c sections. Has been a hard ride. Don't know if my body is up to it :(. <br />

You may could have had two eggs expelled from your ovaries with one not making it to your uterus and one may have been successful. Would get it checked out though just incase. Good luck.
