3rd Time

Doctors are full of crap!  They always say that you can only get chicken pox once!  Bull crap.  I am 25 and have had chicken pox 3 times!  Once when I was 18 months, then at the age of 5 and again when I was 10.  Maybe I am just to susceptible to it, I don't know.  I have never met anyone else who has had it more than once, I kind of feel like a freak.

My daughter is almost 2, and I fear her getting the chicken pox.  I know it is a common childhood illness, most kids get it at one time or another.  I am just afraid it will make it a 4th time for me.

I'm sitting home with my third bout of chickenpox. Now... First I was 13 and it was bad. Then again at 43 not too bad of a case about 50. And again today at 46. Had a doctor confirm each one and doing a culture now And a titer to see what's going on. Both my children had the chickenpox twice as well. They will be happy to know there are more out there that get this numerous times.

The aduld version second time onward is shingles and cannot pass like chickenpox do. Doctors are not idiots, get an education and then start your mouth running bell end.

Sorry not shingles. You are misinformed. It can be chickenpox more than once. Shingles present differently. Anyway had a culture because of its oddness and its chickenpox.

I am so sorry for everyone here having it multiple times! My 11 & 14 year old have each had it twice in the past 2 months. Relatively mild case with flu symptoms at the same time, then 4 and 6 weeks later bad second case. Their doctor didn't even believe it and tried to say the first time may have been something else- it was classic chicken pox though and I am starting to hear from more people who have had it twice- or more. Does anyone have information on whether a booster vaccine may decrease (or hopefully not increase!) their chances of getting it again?

I have had chicken pox 5 times! I first got them at about a year old then when I was three then four I had them twice at the age of seven and then I got shingles when I was 11!! You think chicken pox is bad? By heck shingles is awful the pain was indescribable. I am 18 now and still suffer with the pain from them as they can cause nerve damage! I don't know if it runs in my family though as my cousin had chicken Pox 3 times and developed shingles when She was 11, weird or what!

I have had it 3 times, the last was when I was 18. When I was pregnant with my son I visited my sisters kids who had it. I then went home and 5 days later my husband caught it. The Dr said that I was a carrier but as I was pregnant my antibobies must be high and thats why it didn't affect me. I have been told to stay away from anyone with shingles!

I have had the chicken pox 4 times. The first was when I was a child, and the last 3 have been in the last 4 years. The 2nd and 3rd time were not too bad, but the 4th was the worst! I have other complications from the pox and am continously going to the doctors...I feel like a lab rat. No definate answer yet, but apparently the pox is lying dormate in my body.

I havent had them since I was about 10....but then again everytime I hear a kid has some sort of bumps on them I run lol I really dont want to find out if I out grew it or not lol

wow, I've never heard of that either! Have you talked to your doctor about it? Maybe you're not producing antibodies to it or something. I heard that it gets dangerous, the older you are when you get it- have you noticed it being worse each time, or is it pretty much the same?
