My Experience of Erythema Nodosum

I am 16 years old and have recently been diagnosed with EN. I had been feeling rundown for a few months then I suffered an ulcerated sore throat and a fever. This was followed by the lumps on my legs that were very hot and painful. I showed my doctor these lumps and he then diagnosed me with EN after running  blood tests, but I am still awaiting the result to see if my .EN was caused by a streptococcal sore throat.

Since then my legs have been getting worse, my entire right shin is red and bruised and there are still lumps occurring. I have several lumps on my left leg too making it very difficult for me to walk anywhere. I also have lumps on by elbows but only a couple. I am worried as I am soon to sit my AS level exams and cannot afford to miss my lessons. I have had the condition for just over a week and during this time I have been able to do very little as my legs throb when I do not have them elevated.

My doctor had not seen this condition before and so could only give me limited information and advice. I was hoping someone could get back to me and give me information on roughly how long I should rest for before getting back into school and my usual activities. I also do a lot of trampolining and I coach the sport. Is it ok to return to my sporting activities when the nodules and discolouring disappears? Also is it likely once the EN has cleared up that I will get it again in the future? If someone could get back to me it would be much appreciated, thank you. I hope the information I have given may be useful in giving an insight into my experience of the condition. Please reply.
