I too am a older lady, 59. I have been told that where the fusion stops, the spine above and below it have more pressure on them which may cause pain. I have good days and bad. I have learned to wear good supportive, shoes and if at all possible get a tempurpedic mattress or pad.

Thankyou for the Advice , I use a hot water bottle which helps sometimes and I am going to mention the pain next time i see my surgeoun in a year

Dear DingbatThe Tiny...firstly I see you are only 13-15 years old I am so sorry for your pain and having to endure it at your age. I am an old girl 64 and its bad enough for me I am fused from T2 to S1 .All the nerves in the lower lumbar have had the ghost...lots of pain. I have recently had a spinal cord stimulator implanted in my tummy and the wires go up to T6 and T7 in my spine . I have a remote control which when I turn it on does give me some relief. perhaps you could try this. Good luck Trekkiefan
