It Runs In The Family

So I just found out today that I had sleep paralysis. Last night I had an episode and as I lay in bed, convinced I was being possessed by a demon, I remember my dad telling me about the time he fell asleep with his eyes open. He told me it was the scariest thing that ever happened to him. What he had described, the inability to move or scream was too familiar to my own experiences. So I called him and related to him what was happening to me. Being both awake and asleep at the same time, having a wind rushing in my ears, seeing horrific monsters but not being able to scream or run or do anything. He tells me that its called sleep paralysis and that my older sister suffers from it too. Its a relief to finally know what's behind these nightmares. But now I'm obsessed with finding out as much as I possibly can about it.

wow, no one in my family has experienced SP like I have. I was in denial about it for a long time because my family thought I was just making things up. I'm sorry you have to suffer these episodes but it's good you have learned what it is, early on. =]
