I Have Had Spinal Surgery

Neck Pain

Hi, I have had an anterior discectomy with decompression and fusion in 2003 on c5 - c6 (for those who know the surgeon enters through the front of the throat to access your spine (neck).  Also, in 2009 I had another C6-c7 this time decompression surgery and disc replacement.  I have had neck pain for 12 years and would like to chat to someone in a similar position. 

It has affected my home life (married with a child) working life, sex life etc, and I am having further scans lower down the spine in the next few months.

I have come to terms to a certain extent with the situation and try to remain positive - an uphill battle some days!.

    I had double cervical fusion c4 - 6 and am in so much pain I too am bed ridden. It's changed my whole life. Used to be triathlete and now the pain overcomes me. My husband hates me. I can't take care of my kids. My family thinks I"m addicted to pain meds. I'm just in so much pain and found out my husband sucks. WTF!!!! I'm so pissed off at this pain.

    Claire, I have had 3 neck fusions now so yes I understand what you are going through and yes it does affect every part of you life I was pretty muxh bedridden for 5 years and my 2 older girls blame me for being a bad mother and alot of crap I was and am very blessed my husband has been good to me I will help any way I can
