Navy Veteran With Hcl

I am a Navy veteran who was diagnosed with HCL in 1999. I suffered a relapse in 2008. In 2010 the VA recognized HCL as an Agent Orange related disease. To qualify for a service connected disability (HCL) must have been in-country or on the in-land waters of Vietnam. I would like to communicate with veterans who either have HCL or know a veteran who has the disease. I did not serve in-country or on the inland waters of Vietnam but believe I contracted HCL as the result of contacting Agent Orange at some time during my career.

1961-1971 was when it was used. I have had HCL for about 13 yrs. now and this is the 1st time I have ever heard this. But if your old enough guess it is possible with the awful strength of the stuff. I have just never heard of Agent Orange. After looking it up it could make sense. Hope your doing well.

Tell me what you find out. I was in the Coast Guard from 1970 to 74 and never deployed to Nam. In 1998 I was diagnosed with HCL. My first treatment was the 2cda and 4 yrs. later I had a relapse and this time I took the Rituximab and I still remain in remission. Good luck with your investigation and in your fight against HCL.
