Mine Is Hereditary

On my dad's side of the family.
Started showing itself when I was in my early 20's.
My first instinct was to eat to get it to calm down.  It'd calm down for a little while then flare back up.

I've since learned that my Dad has it and have been treating it.

Haven't quite gotten professionally diagnosed. I plan on doing that once I get some good health insurance. (procrastinating)

With me, it didn't really matter what I ate.  Seemed bologna would even give me heartburn.

I've quit smoking so that has helped tremendously.

I've currently been taking prilosec.    It's been good for the heartburn.

Now I've got a new problem cropping up.
Acid reflux.  Which, isn't pretty.

Waking up early in the morning with acid, not vomit, filling your throat, cutting off the airway.
I've felt as if I was drowning a few times from that.

But, that's a different story altogether.
