New To Hs And Looking For Advice And Information....

I just learned that I have HS. It seems that I have been diagnosed at a much later age than the majority of you…I am 39. Although looking back I can see where I have had events that were misdiagnosed over the last 10 or so years. I am lucky in that I am considered to have a mild case. However, in reading posts it seems that the disease has stages? My doctor did not mention stages but it now seems that I can expect this to get worse? In other internet research I read that the disease gets better with age…has anyone found that to be true? This is all very new to me; I guess I am just looking to get some advice from people who suffer from the same thing. I had never heard of this disease and in talking to my doctors I am continuously told that it is rare and that there is not a lot of information about it. Surgery on my armpits is being recommended but I am not sure yet if this is the right path… does anyone have any advice?

Let's try this again. I started a post at work and logged off by mistake. I must say it was some of my best work. LOL. I am 35 and I was recently diagnosed with HS. I am Chronic and I am in Stage 3. Now that I look back, I can honestly say I remember when I was in both Stage 1 and Stage 2. I hope it will get better as I age. Tea Tree Oil costs $1 and it is my new best friend. I used it last night under my arm and the swelling and redness have gone down. I felt pretty good today. Warm compresses and epsom salt usually get mine to open up. I had a polynidal cyst last year and that was awful. The scar seems like its still fresh at times. I've had the ones under my arm drained as recent as last month and they came right back. I have also used EMU-AID $40.00 and it really didn't help me. But some people swear by it. I think it's good that you joined this group. I think we all need to help one another with remedies, advice and stuff like that. If I can help in any way please let me know.
