Step-kids

T hey are now past being teens. I have a step-son and step-dau. The son has pursued **** and things since he was in middle school. Before we were married, my wife had a **** video tape that a previous boyfriend had left with her. It disappeared for a while until we were getting ready to move to the new house. She found it in the step-sons room. They also had access to cable tv and the internet without filtering. I peaked at some of his browser history a few times and would find that he visited many kinds of **** sites. Another catch one time was finding a chat log where a friend of his was chatting with a girl and trying to convince her to have oral sex. This was around the time the media started reporting how common oral sex was becoming among teens. He started dating a girl when he was 17. After school, they would come to the house, go downstairs to his room and have sex. I overheard it a few times that I was home early from work.

With the step-dau, she didn't seem to be as active or did boy chasing. Her close relationship with one of her girl friends was suspicious though. She always wanted the other girl to stay over. She also didn't start dating regularly until she was 17. My wife had talked to her beforehand so after starting to date the same guy for a while, she asked to go onto birth control. It was no secret from me as I would sometimes go pick them up at the phamacy.

My view and my wife's was that they would find their interests on their own. It was better to keep an eye on it without being in denial that things could happen.
