Coco Pops Induced Hypnogogic?

I was falling asleep on the loungeroom floor, when I could hear noises in my backyard. It would jolt me out of my sleep, but then I could hear it again. I tried to ignore it and sleep, but it kept causing me to jump.

It sounded like children were running up and down this path outside my lounge window, and they were laughing as they were playing. I knew it wasn't real, and my sleepy state was causing a bit of paralysis, but it was so scary it jolted me fully awake and I was able to see none of it was real.

I only just found out it's something called hynogogic today- I thought it was due to eating cocopops before sleeping...

The only other experience I had was another time in the lounge, but I was falling asleep on the couch. It was the same thing, sounded like two children were playing and were laughing at each other and saying something- it sounded like they were jumping on the couches and shooting each other with laser guns, it was so vivid what I was hearing, but I was too afraid to open my eyes so I tried to ignore it, hoping it would go away. It did once I properly fell asleep.

This only happened twice when I was 15. Creepy thing is I now work with children, haha.
