I May Have Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis

I just had a blood test that showed "extreamely low potassium" not sure how low yet, but will have another test in 2 weeks.

I was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia 15 years ago and after suffering all this time I am seeing some of the symptoms disappear or lessen since my Dr prescribed potassium...

In my research I cam across hypp, but i don't think I am jumping to conclusions thinking I have this... because My mom, 2 brothers and 2 sisters also have suffered to varying degrees... also both my daughters show symptoms...

What is the best way to find out, if only to eliminate, if this is what ails my family...

I am grateful for any sound advice...

    Oh wow I am so sorry no one has responded to you after reading your heartfelt plea for help.. for information google the Periodic Paralysis International also google the Periodic Paralysis Association they can even connect to low cost genetic testing for periodic paralysis,, Im hoping you have found your answer also check out THE Periodic Paralysis Network on facebook which is where i go to talk to others just request to join from site owner cal and susan knittle hunter,,, i too carried the diagnosis of fibromyalgia and had discontinued my search for answers untill both my kids also started to show the symptoms... and i went google crazy until I found the answer for us ,,, andersen tawil syndrome... katts
