Insomnia is a sleep disorder? You can tell if it's there I think, you can keep your eyes closed all you want, doesn't help. Or not being able to maintain a long good sleep, that also counts an insomnia. Also feeling disturbed when asleep counts as insomnia at some degree.
Just depends if it's a chronic condition or not, it can be short term insomnia ( 3-4 weeks). So not falling asleep might be slight insomnia. It's not white or black. Though it's linked to things like depression and so on

I have trouble falling asleep even after turning off my iPod and tv..

I can't sleep WITHOUT a fan.

I can have no reason to wake up the next day and my body only lets me get about 6hours.

Just a little bit about my sleeping routine.. I guess I have insomnia

And my insomnia kicked in can't sleep for ****.
Eh, one way around is to work out, you crash like a stone

It is just not being able to fall asleep...but for long periods of time. Every single night. It's being exhausted and dragging a$s all day and barely being able to keep your eyes open up until your head hits the pillow. It's begging and pleading with your brain to just SHUT OFF before you lose your mind. It's complete and utter hell.

Not being able to sleep usually lasts for a day or two. While insomnia last for much longer. Also someone with insomnia may fall asleep but may have trouble staying asleep.

I've always had trouble falling asleep.. How do I KNOW it's insomnia tho

But do you eventually fall asleep? Someone with insomnia has trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, waking up and not being able to back to sleep, waking up to early, waking up tired. Everyone is different, and there are different types of insomnia.

Falling asleep.

I sleep for like 6 hours.

Always tired and sluggish feeling

I wish I got 6 hours sometimes. I think you just have trouble sleeping, try changing some of your habits to try to get a better nights sleep.

I have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep and waking early. Insomnia is really hell and it takes a toll on your emotions and quality of life.
