Newly Diagnosed

I am 31 years old and live on Lake Erie. I'm 5'8 and weigh 374 pounds. In my young adulthood I kept a steady weight of 180. Then hypothyroidism happened. I gained 100 pounds one year and did not have the medical insurance to find out why. By the time I was able to have the blood test, I was well over 300 pounds. A back injury made it difficult to exercise, so I kept on gaining more weight. I always knew that diabetes was a risk with my weight, but never really worried about it happening to me. A couple of weeks ago at the doctor's I found out that I have insulin resistance syndrome. If I don't lose weight fast, I am on the road to diabetes. I'm going to do everything in my power to prevent that and reverse this situation.
