Ic I Have It...

Im only 19 and was told two years ago i have IC. I have went and had two surgeries since then. I have pain during intercourse and wonder every day does this effect my chances of becoming pregnant. No one can answer me. I feel alone and afraid alot and wonder if it will take my life. I have pelvic pain as well as abdominal pain everyday. I only drink water and try to stay focused but im dealing with so much stress is feels like its only getting worse. Im currently not on any medication..instead i have had a surgery each year, which relieves some pain only for a few months. If any one can help me please do. I have so many questions that i need to have answerd.

Im so sorry to hear that you are going through so much pain everyday. I'm 19 this year and I'm suffering from painful bladder spasms every time i take in water, tea or eat food with spices like curry. But don't worry I doubt that it will lower your chances of getting pregnant since it is only affecting your bladder. But I read somewhere that when you get flare ups that feels like a urinary tract infection, there might be abdominal contractions that may cause premature delivery and such... Not sure if it will affect people with IC but since I know that IC patients also experience the abdominal cramps similar to menses cramps during a flare up.... But im sure that if you adjust your diet and lifestyle you can have babies in the future :) Just dont give up! im sure one day your bladder can heal up. Some people can recover without any treatments etc... meanwhile just focus on what makes you comfortable, like applying a hot pad or taking warm water with cinnamon and honey. Hope things will improve for u :)

Hang in there. The good news is you were diagnosed at an early age, the hard thing is that you have it so very young. I spent about ten years or more being misdiagnosed with terrible consequences. IC is manageable, please get a good pain management doctor. I also have severe pain with sex, don't give up, get good pain management and a urologist that will help you with your IC. Be honest with your partner that sex is painful and try different positions that will help ease your pain. There are a lot of us out there, don't feel alone or afraid. Where there is life, there is hope, it is not easy, but you owe it to yourself to explore all options.

Hello, I'm so sorry to hear you have this awful diseases.
I also have IC. I got it when I was 19 I have had it for 10 years now. Having IC does not hurt your chances of getting pregnant. In fact some people with IC may even feel better when they are pregnant. Do you know what you eat can make IC worse? Stress will also make it worse. What surgery's have you been having?
If you have not found the IC network yet here is the website. Lots of information and a forum you can talk to others who have IC.
That sounds horrible, I googled what it was.
Maybe try relaxation stuff, for the pain. Or might have to take pain medication.
It seems to be a bladder problem? sooo my non medical guess is that it wont affect you getting pregnate. Tho if you do some day get pregnate I think it would be quiet painful 9 months. As being pregnate means more trips to the toliet to pee. Soo umm, I would read up on the net some more about it.
