I Run Into This A Loooot.

Mostly on dates. I don't know what it is but the more someone talks the less I feel I even have to add to the conversation. If I can even get a word in edgewise, that is. Then of course I do get a chance to say something, and the only response is a "yeah.... well blka;jlkbajlkjaj blah blah blah" So I'm left on the other side of the table, or the other side of the phone if I'm lucky, tearing up a napkin/ rolling my eyes and taking the phone off my ear to give it a break.

Also, I don't know if it's my hearing but all their words start to mush together and I can't even follow what they're prattling on about. Why am I even here? Why are you talking to me? Am I just an arbitrarily chosen ear for you to shout into?

I just want to find someone nice who knows how to have an actual conversation.

exactly! i find relitives and friends of friends do thsi too

After about 2 hours with no hint of any interest in my thoughts I just feel... .insulted. But you're right, they are lonely. But hey who isn't.

Hahaha, i'm kind of the same way but when I talk a lot it's more rambling but in small spurts to let people get a word in...I've had those same situations with people where they go on and on. It seems often they're just lonely or have this obsessive need to share their interests. I've had people i've met in classes that were like this.
