I Turned Down A Liver. Did I Make The Right Decision?

I have been on the transplant list for 5 years. I have hepatitis "C" and my MELD score has been stable for about a year. It stays right around 16. My blood type is B+ and I am 3rd on the list of patients with B type blood. The 2 people ahead of me have both developed liver cancer, which I still show no signs of. This morning I received a call from the hospital and they offered me a liver. They told me that the antigens and antibodies showed the the guy had been exposed to hepatitis "B" but had never developed it. I personally have no knowledge about hepatitis "B" and they needed my decision right away so I turned it down. Did I make the right decision? I figured that it's better to err on the side of caution.
