Goodbye My Friend

I found my cat in the yard Sunday morning, he now belongs to the ages. I called him Mr. Tom because that's what he was a tom cat. He and I enjoyed each others company over the last two years. I don't know the cause of his death, there were no signs of trauma or distress, but I am grieving his lose and I miss him. I would not allow myself to become close with people or animals for this reason. It is hard to let either of them go. This must sound harsh for one who has experienced the violent death of a buddy. I held his head in my lap while he succumb to his wounds. I sat with Mr. Tom in my lap and held him and whelp. I know he was just a cat, but he was my buddy. I just can't say goodbye, only I'll see you later. Goodbye is final and non-negotiable.

aww I hope Mr Tom is sitting by the rainbow bridge, watching down on you. We love our pets and it feels like we have lost a part of us, which is true in so many ways, especially the company they give.<br />
I'm sure he would thank you for the love you gave him too...[[hugs]]

I know how you feel. Friday will be the 16th birthday of my beloved Loki who passed in February. He was my best friend and saw me through the darkest of days. My heart goes out to you my friend.
