he grew up with me from when I was 4 years old until she was tragically struck by a car and killed when I was 10 at my school bus stop.
I saw her there and it has hurt me for years.
I believe in leash laws and fenced pets. It is criminal to let your dog wander. A neigborhood dog just died after being struck by a car, another loss.
I never befriend pets that wander free for this reason, the hurt is way too great.

  | Posted Jun 23rd, 2008 at 11:50AM First family dog I remember was Ruby she was a beagle I was little girl when we had her had forogotten abuot until I read yur story! When Ruby died we got "Bullets" he was a brown lab mix-he moved from Ct. to NY with my family-I too watched Bullets get hit by a car-I was 11 though-like you waiting for the school bus-my two brothers that were standing wtih me we ran right over to him-he was gone ole Bullets-he was a good dog! We then got Chico-he was a gorgeous German Shepherd-then my younger brother and I brought home a black lab puppy--remember it like yesterday--LOL-we hid "Jets" in the laundry basket in the kitchen--then played dumb when our dad started barking "where'd this dog come from!" Jets was a goofy dog-LMAO-he would sit ont he chair in the kitchen, rest his head on the dishwasher, fall asleep and fall off the chair--my Aunt hated this dog-I think Jets knew it as he'd bring Aunt Carol "presents" one time it was a live woodchuck-right into the kitchen to her wagging his tail--proud as could be of his "gift" oh how she screamed! Great memories---as an adult-I've had two dogs-RP which was a springer spaniel that spouse brought into relationship, then Buffy a cocker spaniel-both dogs had to be put down due to cancer-now I have a granddog-Bella-a adorable black pomeranian-she is a blast to have in the house-I took her out running the other night-she could run forever I think-"grandma" can't!! I also have two cats-Roxy and Chloe-they sleep with me-knead on me-cuddle with me-I love having animals in the house-they become part of your family!   |
