I have lost my cat tonight. She was 17 years old. She was my baby, my life.
I'm devastated. I don't know what to do.

  thank you. I'm still grieving, but not living in the same apartment does help a lot, unlike my parents... Don't worry about your dog. Even though 15 years for a dog is a lot, just make sure you take him to the vet regularly and take care of him, healthy food and all. :)

I know your sadness all too well. On June 2011, what I had to do was put my friend down. She was so sick and there was nothing that could have been done. She had kidney failor as well as numerous failors. Deep down in my heart I know I did the right thing, in my soul I am still in conflict.
I loved her so much, she stood by me through it all and she wasn't a pet but my best friend. My heart feels for you.
