Give It a Little Respect

I won't say my neighbors are ghetto. They just don't take care of their property. On one side we have neighbors A who, for some reason, don't like to mow all of their lawn. See, there is no fence between our yard and theirs so we mow to a certain point, which is actually a little past the property line. They are supposed to mow the rest but this past week, after letting their lawn grow knee high, they decided to mow half of their part of the lawn. So now there is a big hunk of high lawn between our yards. They never pick up the trash either. They just mow right over it, letting it shred into a million pieces.

On the other side of our house are neighbors B.  We used to have a friendship with them but that went to pot recently after my neighbor borrowed our car ofr 30 minutes and kept it for two days. Ther yard is about the same as neighbor A, trashy (from their own kids who don't know what a trashcan is) and unmowed. Their backyard is right next to ours and it's a poor mess. I'm not saying our yard looks pristine. We have an old rusted shed in the back. But we keep the lawn mowed and there is no junk back there. Neighbor B has trash under the deck, on the deck, in the yard. There's 4 kids living there. Can't one of them pick up? The surprising thing is that the county recently assessed the value of homes and theirs was actually increased while ours decreased. Go figure. The husband told me the other day every time he does something to the house he files it with the county. I have no idea what he is talking about. And I'm wondering just what work he has done. I've been in that house before they bought it. It had refinished hardwood floors and the kitchen looked fresh and clean. Not anymore.  Go figure.

I just wish they my nieghbors would treat their proerty with a little more respect.
