I Have Met a Holocaust Survivor
Two actually. One was a college professor of Western Civilization and the other a neighbor.
In 1982, I had the good fortune to interview this professor for another class (speech) and that is how I found out he was a Jew. He showed me his tatooed numbers. He told me that he escaped to France and asked a woman in a small village if there was work he could do for food. This woman taught him to read and write with the bible.
The other is a woman neighbor. She has spoken of the times where she had to dig through trash to survive as they were running away.
