I Have Multiple Sclerosis
When I was younger I was not the sporty type. Not to say I didn't like sports. I did. I was never good at sports. I had no balance, I had no coordination. I got headaches, The heat bothered me. To my siblings, I was a dork.
When I was 21, after I had my first two children I woke up and the vision in my left eye was not right. It was like there was a shadow over the upper part of my eye. Every day it got worse. I thought my sinuses were congested. Really bad. By the third day I couldn't see out of that eye. I made an appointment for the eye Dr.
Optic neuritis he said. A flag for MS. I am thinking..what? no, this can't be...why?
But the referral to the neurologist an mri and a spinal tap all said yes. When the neurologist called and said I needed to come in to the office so he could discuss the results of all the tests. All I could do is say. Just tell me, I would rather be home. So..a few incidences with my left side not wanting to work, a few rounds of iv solumedrol and a couple of month on a cane( which to this day the kids get a kick out of) and this mom is still the best skier out of all of her friends. So there. Take that MS. I have MS, it doesn't have me.
