know that they're are great deals, however I'm not crazy or desperate enough to wake up at 3 in the morning and wait in ridiculous lines. I have assumed that this may change once I have children. This is due to the fact that the toy sales are great and parents know what their kids want. So when they see it for like 75% off somewhere they jump on it. Now this year I am working 2-7 on Black Friday and I'm hoping it will go by fast and that I won't see any needless violence. Maybe find a few deals of my own considering that I'll already be there!

 | Posted Nov 20th, 2007 at 8:46AM I will have to go join this group, too! Although my sister is trying to talk me into going with her and some friends thhis year. Who knows... I might. Maybe you can get some on-work deals. Wal-Mart workers in my area always irked me though, for that. ( not down on you here. Perhaps you are fair about it.) The workers would snag the "good stuff" BEFORE the doors were opened. So on the LIMITED items that were at BLOW-OUT price was already gone! What a crock! |
 | Posted Nov 20th, 2007 at 8:49AM Well I come in from 2-7 pm. I actually work at Kmart, but I know what you mean. Although I think every store should have something for their employees. Maybe order a little extra and just for them. I like the deals that are like gift baskets. And I might get a few sweaters. Although only having a 15 min break, I'd spend it all in line and still not be able to but it! |

I probably never will indulge in that ritual because I have no desire to do battle witha bunch of bargain crazed women who think that the chance to save a few bucks entitles them to act like crude uncivilized banshees and trample all over other people just to get some stupid toy that their kids will be tired of in three months!I have better things to do on my day off,like relaxing with my friends and family. Thats what the holidays are for aren't they? |
 | Posted Nov 21st, 2007 at 2:20PM I took advantage of all the great "deals" last year on Black Friday, only to relize that the gifts that I saved all that money on weren't really the gifts my family wanted. This year I'm paying full price and getting what I know everyone will enjoy. Lesson learned. |
 | Posted Nov 21st, 2007 at 9:48PM I have to work black friday too, and dreading it... :( At least I don't have to be there until 10. I'm still kinda new, so my supervisor isn't torturing me by making em come in a 5 when the store opens. |
