Not perfect, just genuine, sincere. There are many people who like to keep up appearances with a performance of friendship- but never have any time to invest. These always find the time to offer "advice", but never affection or companionship.
The "advicer's" Don't you just hate that. Ok, I love the one....."been there, done that" right in the heart of your most serious pain! I tend to invest so much time with a friend after days of consideration, and yet; as of late; I still end up regretting it. I hope it is because of the area I live in (Alabama, yuck). However, many say its the same way everywhere. What are your thoughts?
People are generally lazy and selfish everywhere. ( I say "generally"). They'll talk and put on a good show, they'll do favors and acts of charity as long as they figure that somebody will admire them for it, or if they expect a return from it. But rare is the person who honestly wants to spend time with another person, just being and loving as a friend and companion.
This is very true, especially the part you said about advice. I love listening to people but I'm sick of being used as the listener and then when I want somebody else to listen they don't, they offer advice and simplistic solutions that I never askedfor (I just wanted to be listened to!!) and I'm sick of people not being reciprocal, taking an interest in them but they don't. It must be nice to have a proper 2 way friendship i've never had one.
