Gimme Room

I need more shelves...possibly a new room...I need a library!

And yet, I could not stop buying more. Heck, they could not even fit in the photo. There's some on the desk below...and below the desk on the floor...and on my bedside table...and in the living room table...and in the basement shelves...and in another bedroom...

Such is the addiction..............good addiction though.

People always ask why do you keep getting more if you can not fit them here and can not even read all of them.

I tell them that they are waiting for me when I retire...........so leave the books alone!

You'll be one lucky person to inherit your grandma's library. And yes... the older the books, the better the scent. ;p

I'm the same and what is the best is my granma has the best library (in her house) in this world, and guess who's gonna get it?!? ant they are old!! I love the smell of books i get sho high!! haha even if there are full of dust and i'm dying of all of it that gets in my lungs i don't care.<br />
<br />
Hey, anybook you want to recommend? I read EVERYTHING!

The only solution, Rog... set up a new library... find a space, a room... and just have them all there... I feel so sad that your books are in plastic containers... in the garage even... *Sylph worries about the books*... they might get moldy... or infested with "bookworms"...

Awesome place to just hibernate in... :)

hehe i could live in a library and i wouldn have any problem with that hehe- books are great!

Spring...sorry...your last comment is a minute apart from my comment to Roj...<br />
<br />
So you haven't parted with them...thought so...hehehe... Just leave them in that room. Then maybe build another shelf...or make that room into a library...way, way cooler! ;)<br />
<br />
No, hubby says the same thing..."Books again! But you haven't even read all of them?! ... Have you read the last one you bought? ... blah-blah-blah..."<br />
*Sylph exasperates*big big sighs*<br />
Maybe I scared him a little when I said I'm not coming here if my books are not going with me. LOL I didn't really mean it...but I would forever be sad if he chose not to agree...and I think he realized it. Either that or he knows he won`t win anyway..............haha! Bully.......! ;)

WG...I so fear for your books! Living on a farm...bush fire.......maybe make a vault for the books...just sayin' ;)<br />
<br />
And I definitely agree with you...it's the same feeling I get with old books. Aside from the fact that old books are valuable, I like the idea that it holds more value to the person who previously owned or read it. Going through the pages makes me feel them, too. The book itself holds these memories and therefore, is a history itself. That just makes me *sigh*... <br />
<br />
I told this once in my other story about books...funny comments... <a href="http://www.experienceproject.com/uw.php?e=842697" target="ep_blank">EP Link</a>#comment_em<x>bed<br />

<br />
Bella...of course, I have Twilight! I'm impressed how you could recognize the series...you are a fanatic! LOL<br />
Yes, it is quite a collection...almost diverse. Mostly fiction but I try to be eclectic...but the rush in reading fiction outwears reading non-fiction...

Sylph...You have quite a collection<br />
<br />
You sure have great taste in books...Wanna know why ?<br />
<br />
I see you have the Twilight series on there...Yes !! ;)

Oh I love the photo Sylph....insight into the RL of Sylph...I like it. <br />
<br />
Roj and I have this problem...big time! <br />
<br />
I worry that if our house ever burnt down I'd never be able to replace our library collection, ever...forget the photos they are (or should be soon) digitally recorded and safely kept 500 km away and in various other locations. But our books! Oh dear....all those memories, all that collecting all that love...to be lost forever would be too much. If we were to list all the books down in our house contents insurance we would never be able to afford the insurance and they would probably think we were mad!! It there was a bush fire coming our way and I have to evacuate the house I think I'd fill the cars and the trailers with books!<br />
<br />
Books are like a form of self-ex<x>pression/ art...when you bring one home to join our library, with the intension of reading it some day in the future, it allows you to express a little of who you are in that moment in time, your hopes and dreams/desires, who and what you'd like to be, what knowledge you would like to acquire if you had all the time in the world! Novels are like sets of photos from holidays...something you keep as a reminder of the journey you have taken...

Hello, Forum...(you have a rather long username - LOL!)<br />
With the outer box...then I won't be able to see what's behind it...I like to see my books...all the time!<br />
<br />
I do have e-books...but I'm partial about real books. Call me old school but there's just something nostalgic in holding the book itself.<br />
<br />
Thanks for the comment...and for calling me a princess.............I'm a fairy though... hehe

Oh, definitely, Roj! And my books are the #1 priority........... ;)

Priorities right, right?

Noooooo!!! <br />
Did you really ??? ...........aaahhhhhh!!!<br />
<br />
Did you cry? I could not even imagine parting with mine...and some have been with me since I was young, like many, many moons ago. When we had to move from a faraway place to here, we have to give up most of our stuff because it was just pointless to bring them all. But I told hubby... "If you want me to come with you, my books better be with me".....and my books arrived here earlier by 3 days via Fedex! ;)

Ever...vaseline?? LOL... but yeah, Brill chewed and licked my hubby's deodorant left idly on the bathroom sink counter. And a hand lotion I leave on my desk here. And they give you that look, ay? What can you do???<br />
<br />
Sweetie...oohhh, would love to have a big library, too. Large windows and large French doors opening to a balcony...hmmm...oh yeah.........one day....<br />
<br />
*hugs to you both*thanks! :)

That's funny, Lear...a stack of books falling on your cat...must have given him/her catmares after. LOL<br />
<br />
But my Brill is a yellow Lab...he's bigger than my stacks...he'll probably have fun when they do fall on him.....haha... Thanks! :)

lol my cats have a healthy fear of books. one of them pulled a stack onto himself trying to sharpen his claws on them. they do occasionally attack the candles though, so i bot a little warming plate from a candle company and a small heavy glass vase to use up the ones they break.

Haha...that's a good one...*must try on Brill* hehe...though Brill is a he...but no matter, we need a male around us, girls anyway. ;)<br />
<br />
I do have that fear that one day, Brill will get obsessed with my books........he has started on my candles already........wax all over the couch.....and floor...... LOL!

Artsy.......this photo is our den! LOL It became my lair over the years because of my books.......this is where I usually hibernate....especially when on EP. (I just sounded like an animal with those previous sentences LOL)<br />
I love being with my books......such an uhhhmmm-feeling..........*hugs*<br />
<br />
Laurie.....don't do that again, girl! No more getting rid of books, okay? I see books as a part of you...taking them away makes you..........incomplete........know what I mean? I'm sure you do now! *hugs* <br />
Yes...just keep 'em piling up......*Sylph helps Laurie stack books higher and higher*<br />
<br />
Oh, Ever.....Love the part - "...she ate half the bloody book..." ...too funny! My Brill is the same way...but so far, the only ones he has gone through are mails left on the table...he hasn't touched any of my books..........yet... But one time though, he got hold of a magazine...a Victoria Secret swimsuit magazine!!! I waited for this last December because it's the new one for summer 2010.....and I love their swimsuits...and bikinis................and Brill chewed the whole damn thing...glossy paper all over the living room..........what to do, ay? *hugs*

LOL! They guard my books, HT! Shhhhh... they can not be detected. ;)<br />
<br />
You are crazy! Love it, kiddo! *hugs*

There are also 6 ninja's in this same image. <br />
<br />
:P

They are, More...they certainly are. ;)

...and books are very, very patient...

Of course, Roj. These books provide good company...there's real friendship between us and the books. Plus they don't hurt you. They don't complain. And most of all, they don't mind waiting. ;)

I always had the feeling my unread books were waiting for me. In some ways buying them is almost as good as having read them :)
