Biracial And Proud. =)

I am the product of an interracial relationship. I am both European and Filipino. Because of this, I'll be in an interracial relationship regardless!
I have never really had any difficulty dating someone of a different race, and my happiest relationship to date has been with someone who is half Puerto Rican and half Scottish.

It does concern me though that interracial couples are rarely in the media for family shows. Occasionally I'll see one where the actors are probably of different races, but the scripting doesn't seem to do anything to incorporate different cultures into the show.

I'm 100% Caucasian but I have never dated a guy who was more than half Caucasian and I never really thought about it until I started dating my current boyfriend who happens to be Korean, and people definitely stare or comment. I don't care though =) In response to btresco, sure there are plenty of mixed race actors, and many of them are absolutely stunning. But as mariellalove pointed out, there are few interracial couples on TV or in movies. If they are interracial, they don't look too different or they come from the same culture and just have different ethnicities. It's so cool when shows and movies actually mix it up, because it happens in real life all the time!

forget fltc. just because other people don't recognized certain types of ethnic groups as being seperate, for example, Um do Turks look like swedes. no. but they're still listed as european. its mixed for sure. I'm half white and half kuwaiti. i don't look anything at all like my caucasian family so . . . just be proud. forget all the people like fltc tryin to tell you what you are.

I'm half East-Indian and 1/2 European. There are not alot of examples but I've noticed over the years that there are children's dolls of different skin tones now and diversity is starting to come in.
Anyways - it nice to see people that are not all the same colour or size or shape...
Just some thoughts - take care.
