I Have No Problem With Interacial Relationships
I see your true colors, shining through
I see your true colors, that's why I love you
I see your true colors, shining through
I see your true colors, that's why I love you
Yo, they say this love wasn't meant to be
Two people from two different worlds, We wasn't meant to be
It must have been fate you were sent to me
We'll make it through these hard times, eventually
We stand and fight, we'll walk by faith but not by sight
We're all the same color when you turn off the lights
------------
Love this song. My boyfriend is biracial - black and white. He has a tan complexion, a southern accent and looong dreadlocks. I'm about as white as they come with blue eyes and brown hair. Day to day, we don't see colors, we don't see race. We see each other and that is all that matters. The great thing is that with him being biracial, he's grown up with questions regarding his identity and his self. I'm a late discovery adoptee whose birth mother died before I knew she existed and I have no idea who my birth father is or if he knows I exist. Despite two different circumstances, my bf and I can bond over the concept of identity and the societal perspective of "self."
Society is just one big melting pot of cultures, anyway. :)
