Very Common

Where I live, interacial marriage and dating is very common. I was married to a Black man and we are still very good friends, even though we are divorced. When we were dating I was often amused by the looks we would get. Prejudice is one of those emotions that is hard to hide, especially in a person's eyes. My mother raised me to value people for the content of their character (as MLK often said) and not for the color of their skin.

Love is color blind. As it should be ... i believe. Much more to individuals that just their skin color.

Hmmmmmm I'll bet she didn't think she was "settling" for you. I'll bet she thought you were a pretty good catch, otherwise she wouldn't have married you... :-)
