Self Diagnosis

I have had this problem on and off for 12 years but this time it did not go away. After seeing my GP, used various creams, and seen a dermatologist I finally found Notalgia Paresthetica on the internet. I have seen my GP and he said he had heard of it but never come across it before. The information I found about NP suggested the use of a TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine which by shear coincidence I had been using for a muscle problem in the same area as my itch, along with a muscle rub cream called Be Active Balm. The combination of the two has helped a lot. My GP said there is no cure and could not recommend anything else other than what I was already doing. I regularly see an acupuncturist for my back and my research said that this can also help but have not seen her yet to find out but will post again if successful.
