My Reason For Living

I have one child, a seven year old girl child. She has gave me inspiration, faith, courage and hope when all else failed. She has really been the light at the end of my tunnel.

On many occasions, she gave me courage, which I kept focused on to make through to the end. However, there is one experience that topped all off.

She was 1 1/2 years old at the time. I was travelling home from work, a normal day, like every other day. In that taxi, myself and another passenger were robbed. We were taken to and isolate destination, where I was beaten and all our possession were taken away. We begged to be set free. I told the bandits I had a baby only 1 1/2 year and I had to go home to her. He said "I don't care about that."

The other woman was raped and murdered while I was supposed to be next. All I could of think about was my daughter would growing up without her mother and that I had to find a way to save myself to be there for her. I was left unattended for a couple of minutes and I grasp that chance and escape from my captures. If I had not done this I would have been a dead woman today.

I cannot go into further details but if was not for my child all hope would have been lost. She was and has always been my shinning light at the end of my tunnel. She is always my focus, to get me thorough whatever situation I am faced with.
