Ovarian Cancer Whispers

Ovarian Cancer Whispers -  so  listen carefully . . .

Watch for Pelvic or abdominal pain or discomfort;
·       vague but  persistent gastrointestinal upsets such as gas, nausea, and indigestion
·       frequency and/or urgency of urination in the absence of an infection;
·       unexplained weight gain or weight loss
·       pelvic and/or abdominal swelling, bloating and/or feeling  of fullness;
·       ongoing unusual fatigue;
·       unexplained changes in bowel habits.

If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, ask your doctor for a combination pelvic/rectal exam,
CA-125 blood test, and trans-vaginal ultrasound.

A Pap Test WILL NOT detect ovarian cancer.

good advice

I have all of those symptoms. I got rushed into hospital three weeks ago as the pain was so severe i was having difficulty breathing. They discharged me after 4 days saying it was constipation/IBS.
The pain has improved but I know something is not right so i went to my GP and explained how i feel to him.
I have to go back on Monday for a fasting Blood Test to check for ovarian cancer.
Reading the posts on here makes me realise how brave you all are. I am only being tested for it and i am petrified.

Regular workout might prevent this

I went to dr with nausea and stomach bloating. Thought it was stress but by the end of the day I was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer

Sorry to hear this

My wife had nearly 7 hours of surgery for both ovarian cancer and a large tumor this summer. In retrospect it would have helped if she had kept a detailed dairy or journal about her health and and the pain as it developed. The Surgeon would not even give me what her odds were of surveying the surgery but she made so don't give up easily fight to live. Her recovery will take a couple of years bur she can look forward to enjoying life fully and doing everyday things agin.

Good to know thanks for posting.

wow! I got scared reading this... I get unexplainable sharp pains, I loose and gain weight... does irregular menstruation have to do with this?

Sorry! I actually don't know. Check with your doctor to make sure.

it's ok :)

:)

I can't tell you how helpful this is to me. I have a serious phobia about PAP smears. I can't do it. I have worried that if I have it I'll never know without a PAP. Thank you.

Many are afraid of it...you are not alone.

Sorry. I have a friend going thru this<br />
.

I am okay! Sorry about your friend.

Who are you anyway...I can't see your username?

I get pain in my ovaries all the time, usually mild but rarely excruciating. i know its not normal but i dont have health insurance. i sure hope it isnt cancer.

I am sorry you have pain and not having health insurance. I hope there's a way you'll be able seeing a doctor.

Raw unburnt Cannabis eaten or juiced may be of great help to you.

:)

I've had many of those symptoms and I've had those tests & they came out negative. Its good you have them listed. Its hard to find listings of what the symptoms are for diseases & forget about asking your doctor. You're lucky if you can get a couple questions answered during your visit before he/she is out the door to the next patient.

I'm glad you are safe and the test were negative. I have heard the same like you just mentioned, a few doctors rush and people cannot ask all the questions they would like to ask. People are lucky if they get the one's who gives them time to ask whatever concerns them.

That's very true.

Women have a duty to themselves to get checked reguarly. Thanks for hightlighting this issue :)

I thank you so much! PrincessWhateverrrrr

I am certainly sorry to read that you are ill.

This isn't about me ... I needed to share what I have received...thanks though :)

I also have these symptoms. I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago and m left ovary removed 3 months ago I am only 28. But the bloating, pain/pressure in my back and the urgent urination is more than I can bare. So many symptoms I made an appointment but due to funds can't go till next week. I'm scared I have not even told my husband.

It must be uncomfortable and I'm sure you are scared. See what the doc tells you and take it from there. Tell your hubby, you will feel better telling him + he will be by your side.

I too have had several of these symptoms in the last few months. Lost almost 30 lbs (122 down to 94). On and off bloating, really fatigued, never hungry and full after about 2 or 3 bites. Urgency to urinate, on and off pelvic/lower abdomen/lower back pain, and pain during sex with occasionally spotting after. I have an appt on monday with my GYN's PA. I am just not sure if I should be really worried, maybe it is just an infection. Thanks to all with any input

I hope your apt. went well.

CrazyLad67: If you have many symptoms + there's breast cancer on your mom's side, then you shouldn't be shy or feel silly. It doesn't matter the way she'll take it + I don't think she'll take it bad, she's there to help, it is better being safe then sorry, she is the qualified one and may send you for tests. As per my opinion, you shouldn't wait another day and get your appointment as soon as possible.

I have multiple symptoms of Ovarian Cancer, but since they are so vague, I feel silly talking to my doctor about it. I'm only 30, but have significant hx of breast cancer on my mom's side. I tested negative for the BRCA1/2. How do I approach this with my doc, I'm afraid she's just going to think I'm an alarmist or something.

Don't worry about what someone might think. We have great dealing about our bodies. I though the Same thing. I think my doctors are wonderful. If they don't listen find another.

My pleasure.

Thanks for writing this. Every woman needs to know these warning signs.
