Pet Peeves

Don't you just hate when you get solicitations in the mail and they put postage on the return  envelope... what to do , waste of money, hate them for putting me in this position, some charity is losing precious moneys for this stupid envelope......OK, I have been known to give then something. But I always promise never to do it again...

When my husband died and I had to go get my military ID redone(AS HE WAS RETIRED ARMY) the status on my card read URW... I questioned what that meant and I was told it meant unremarried widow.. now I'm not a brain surgeon or anything so I had to ask, well, if I remarry do I get to keep the ID? I was told NO... Now I'd like to know how much they had to pay for someone to come up with that...

kind of sounds like any Government agency, office or program. Anything the US is tagged to is going to cost the taxpayer. They have the convenience of doing whatever they like with no apologies for whatever they screw up and have the best of all evils. Must be nice.

It will be interesting to see how that works Jim, they have steadily gone up and still don't have enough money.....Kinda sounds like the School Boards.....

I buy the forever stamps ... suppose to remain current for good .. time will tell. I can see it now ... due to the Postal budget strains it has become necessary to recall the one-time stamps ... that the sender will have to add an additional postage fee to the one-time stamps. My luck. Ha.

do learn something new everyday. Didnt know there was a way to put postage on an envelope and only be charged if its used. I'll so have to check into that.<br />

I send them out myself...but as a means of growing my business, not a charity....nothing noble in my plan...LOL

Wow, I've never seen that before.... usually pre printed stamp on the envelope....

No, I have gotten mail with postage stamps not the pre paid stamp. Real postage stamps, it puts pressure on you to send something in...

They only pay for the ones that are delivered. Only other cost is the printing of the envelopes. If you throw it out, they don't pay that postage....

Like spending on stamps for those confounded envelopes

Yes, I feel it is a big waste of money but we must think of the relatives of whomever has a charity - they need jobs too! LOL I do not donate to charities - I administrate my own. I make sure to help someone out every month. It's a known fact that some charities have a lot of administration fees - that means the people that need it the most don't get as much as they would if all of the junk mail weren't sent out.

I'm kinda ornery sometimes. I will gather up a bunch of those envelopes and the stinking pain in the rear end "reply cards" that are stuck in magazines and mail them all without filling them out. I keep hoping that if enough of those come back they will stop using them because it's too costly.
