Two Years With Pv

I am a Male of 71 years. I was diagnosed with PV 2 1/2 years ago, my initial symptoms were a blood clot in my left leg, I was treated with cumadin for a period of time and then halted. 6 months later I experienced another blood clot in my left leg, this one larger.
I told my doctor I wanted to see a hematologist. My hematologist ordered a special blood test, which determined that I had PV I was then put on a daily injection of lovenox and daily hydroxyurea pills. My doctor has experienced difficulty managing my blood and at times I have to go in for Phlebiotomy's.
I do experience some of the symptoms I see here, such as red face, itching after shower, colder shower helps with this. I experience fatigue, however I find that increased activity exercise, walking helps with this. I was really wiped out when I had a Phlebiotomy every week for a few weeks, fortunately I only have one once a month now.
I am glad to have found this forum and to be able to share my experiences.
