One Day At A Time

Having been diagnosed with PMR about 1 month ago, and having joined the Prednisone Club, which I had resisted for quite a while, I realised it was more important for me to feel functional again than to persisit with my opposition. Sometimes you just have to do things you would not rather do. I have realised that I need to take one day at a time as I never know how I will be until I wake up. It is a comfort to know I am not the only one in my position. I had never heard of this condition before and would truly not wish it on anyone, it is a miserable thing to have to deal with, having been a fairly fit and well person up til now. It seems this scenario is quite commen among other sufferers as well. Thanks for the Forum and good luck all other sufferers.

I'm still resisting the prednisone club and can hardly walk in the morning. I thought it was supposed to subside throughout the day. Here it is 6:30 p.m. and I'm still aching!

I too have been diagnosed with PMR I am 83 yrs old, never had aches or pains till now. It was bad until I was diagnosed after about 6 weeks.this started around Thanksgiving and was bad at night and in the mornings. could not sleep., had problems getting up and dressed until about 1 in the afternoon. Am now on prednisone ,started at 15mg. down now to 12.5 and on Mar.4 will go down to10, then go back to Rheumatologist on April16. I just am praying it will stay as it is, right now no pain and can function normally. It was in my shoulders, arms, one hand, hips, thighs and knees. I had never heard of it before nor had any of my family or friends. I will keep up with this site and good luck and Gods blessings on all of us. Thanks for this forum.

I had never heard of this PMR before either, but I was lucky and got a dx fairly soon. When I felt better I stopped taking the predsome, but came back with a vengenance after 6 years. I had forgotten I had it until my dr. said it was a possibility that this was my problem. He put me on predsome and I quickly gained 10 lb. I have found if I take the pred. early in the am and move slowly, it is better in the afternoon, but comes back at bedtime. I am 85 with lots of heart problems, have had by-pass, on my 3rd pacemaker, have spinal stenosis, slipped disk, RH, and old age creeping in but I still try to find something to feel good about every day. I am above ground, have famly and friends that love me, and I thank God every day for all my blessings.

I am recommending an all natural product to people on this blog called Heal N Soothe, which I found on the internet for my husband's PR. It contains enzymes and has relieved about 95% of his muscular aches. He is off Prednisone and is now much more active. Hope this helps.

I have had PMR for about 6 months now, and am down to 10mg of Prednisone per day. At 20mg almost no pain, at 15mg, a little pain in the mornings, now at 10mg, the pain is up but manageable. But I would like to find something other than Prednisone to treat the pain.. I will look up Heal N Soothe, I have heard that Serrapeptase also treats the pain and has no side effects.. Anyone else heard of this or tried it??
