Psoriasis Sucks

its sucks...i have psoriasis 7 long yrs ...its all over my body even my face now have it ...i dont know what kind of medication ill take or even apply on my skin its bugging me since then ..pls help me what to do..i cant work with this ...i live with my 2 children no husband and no wrk..i cant wear shorts even a shorts sleeve..friends told me it ok they dont care but for me i cant, i feel alone in this world ...trying to find someone else with this kind of decease so we can share some experiences

I had psoriasis at 25 now im 31i had it on my chest mt back my legs but its not big plaques more like chickenpox but it bothers me cause I dont go to the pool dont use shorts anymore,i dont let people get to close to me even when they say they dont care it just hard I wish all thw people from here could make a reunion where we could b us and actually share experiences

It really does suck!

i found my school years the worst, spent my childhood explaining i did not have horrific dandruff and that no it wasn't catching -still grossed people out though.

at least now when it disgusts people they are socially obliged not to say anything.

still hurts to see the look on their faces though.

just gotta keep reminding myself it could be something worse.

Have you ever tried lye soap? It doesn't have detergents that irritate psoriasis and I've heard it clears up lesions too. www.grandmaspureandnatural.com sells it and I know so many people who won't use anything else.

it sucks. people are stupid and cruel. there is no cure or good treatment. we have to grin and bear it. just rise above it. remember there is always someone else who has it worse!

i was 5 and hospitelized the day i was diegnosed for 6 weeks. they burned them off with anthrlen past. and uv light, this treament went of ever 4 years till i was 21. during all of this i was very lonley. friends were hard to find that were not scaired to be around me. i have a limited drug plan and lots of the treaments that work for my skin are not coverd. i have learnd how to make my own creams to ease the sore dry scales. limited sun exsposure works now, as the hole in the ozone is harder on my skin then 20 years ago. you will get through this. a gluten free diet help me also. if your new meds are making you sick and tired maybe you are having a reaction. call the doctor asap. as soon as i learned to exsept myself for what i was. people soon did the same, my husband did not even knotice i had porisis for 6 months and at that time i had 78% coverage.

Wow, I , too, broke out terribly after a sunburn. It was the worst nightmare. It was called erythodrmic psoriasis. Very scarlett red and your skin sheds and peels like a snake about every three days. It finally settled down after oral meds now I just have regular old plaque p. *sigh*



God grant us the serinity...

Im also suffering from it, Im 17 year old. My mother and grandma had this also. I got a sunburn and all the sudden it flared up. Now i have it everywhere on my body. Spots everywhere! Just know theres other people out there that have the same thing.

Jevo I share your pain. I have had the pleasure of working with kids and as kids they can be the crulest. How do you explain to the kids what P is and that they can"t catch it from you.

But I have learned it is not what they think but about how you respond to the questions. I used to make up lies that I had been burned as this would stop any further questions. Now I tell the truth that God made me this way just so I can meet them. I have a whole social group around me. Yes the way I look does affect me but I am not going to let that be what people remember me by. Relax find a good dermatologist to get it under control. and if others do not understand or are offended then they are not the people you should hang around with anyway.

The drugs have gotten better and the treatments but it is a rollercoaster and one thing that worked may not in the future but there is always something else to try.



My heart goes out to you just remember you can't change other peoples reactions to you just your own. Pity them for their ignorance and carry on without another thought on the matter.
