They say if you really focus on the other person (to whom you're interacting with) you feel less anxious and sometimes you don't feel anxious at all. It's not thinking about what they're thinking about you but really focusing what he/she is saying. So I tried it few times..
I actually felt awesome after that. Just being able to try it several times makes me real happy. It was just some little things like saying hi to a classmate, being able to go to a bank, or talking to a teacher (as I percieve them as being "important" or "more qualified and educated" individuals) but they were really big achievements for me.
