Crystal Clear

When we are upset, it's easy to blame others. The true cause of our feelings, however, is within us. For example, imagine yourself as a glass of water. Now, imagine past negative experiences as sediment at the bottom of your glass. Next, think of others as spoons. When stirred, the sediment clouds your water. It may appear that the spoon caused the water to cloud- but if there were no sediment, the water would remain clear. The key, then, is to indentify our sediment and actively work to remove it.

Reminds me of a very true story.
Was only the second time this wonderful lady and I had met and I gave her this large, very nice stainless steel thermos. We were going out for the day, so she made coffee for herself, since I do not drink coffee. A short time later she was drinking a cup from the thermos and when she got to the bottom of the cup there was all these small dark lumps/ round balls. Completely covered the bottom of the cup. I thought she was going to lose breakfast. She did not say it, but I knew she must have thought I had put something sinister in her coffee.
Fortunately I knew there had been nothing in the thermos before she put her coffee in, and she trusted me so we went about trying to figure what it was. Turned out it was her generic dried milk that did not dissolve properly in the coffee and ultimately showed up as sediment in the bottom of her cup.
We were both glad the sediment was all hers.

Soulsound, what a wonderful title to a book.... i like it, i'll try to get my hands on a copy. Thank you.<br />

Love this! Now to get rid of the sediment and the murky water...

I love this. It's exactly the book i'm reading right now. It is called "Loyalty to your Soul : The heart of spiritual psychology". I am half way through it and it's amazing.

Thank you Chetnya. *smile*

Take care!!!!

Oh wow, what a great metaphor and reminder. No one can stir up something that isn't there to be strred true. Thank you for finding and sharing this gem.

I like this,it's so true.

I really liked that metaphor and it's very true too. Though in some cases others shouldn't be stirring, it is really important to recognize our own issues and that in many cases the one thing we have control of and the one thing we can change
