No my sweetie , you are not one , you will take the advantages you can glean from that cold heartless city and share it with the deserving that are not that fortunate , you are destined to be a great man , this I know *hugs*

In order to survive in the city, to an extent you must don the mask of the city dwellers. What's below the mask is real though, and if you were truly " one of them", you would have never written this story.

Give one thing every day to someone less fortunate, even if you simply make them smile. Even if it's only your good thoughts toward them and they never know. The universe will know and it will somehow convey your message of goodwill.

Thanks bitterdogs for the advice...Yes I give the less fortunate something...But what happens next there will be a crowd of such people asking for the same thing and cry to help them too,but I just walk away heartlessly.....

Do you walk away heartlessly ? or do you walk away wishing you could help them, so much so that you made this post ?

I used to work in a deli/bakery. Every night the boss would throw away all the leftover food. The employees were allowed to take what they wanted. I would fill one or two sacks every night and leave them in the doorways where I knew the homeless would later congregate. They never knew who had left the bags of bread and pastries.

Put your help in a place where you know it will be needed. Do it when nobody is looking and have faith that it will help the ones who need it the most. If you have nothing to give, then simply wish the best for them. That is more than most humans will ever do.

For instance if I give a 10 rupee note to a kid, then learning that his friend come to me asking for 10 rupees...I will give them too..Later a whole lot of kids come to me asking money...I will be surrounded by them and they cry that they need money for food and they are so hungry...See I cant give everyone...And I will tell them "No" and if I continue giving them too,my privacy will be lost and they wont leave me alone....

They just ask for some money to have a single meal per day...May be I want to give but I am not giving for my own personal reasons..

And its great to learn you are helping people with full heart....Continue doing that..

As I said, don't give the rupee note to the boy. Place it somewhere away from your home when nobody is looking and know that someone who needs it will find it. In a doorway or on a windowsill. Nobody has to know it was you. Your privacy need not be interupted. That is not selfish, that is practical survival :)

Nobody at my door will be needing my money...Only when I go some where else I will be meeting such people...Also I cant just walk away when a kid cries for food..

I used to work in a small village padi's farm for money when I was a kid. The owner pay me 30 cent per day of works. Small but we (the kids) always happy because it was from our own hard work.

So I just want to give you an advice:
It's better to give them rod and a bait than a plate of fish.

    Booo triple hooo! :P

    Enjoy your life MM.

Wow..Exactly Topay....I know that..My money never gonna help them for more than a day..But as you said the rod and bail will give them food for their life...

I am working on that topay, but it will take 10 more years for me to implement it.....Its part of my dream topay...Right now I can give them only a day's pleasure and they have to wait till I am ready topay... Sorry,I have not spoken openly to you here!
