I find this story funny, because in Brasil topless is not allowed in public places, but it is tolerated in expensive resorts (wealthy people can do anything)...

So it is great that you have tried topless. Sincerely, there is all possible when the beach is nearby the resort. If the beach is far out of the resort, it is OK. IHowever, I know an accident when the police has intervented in Poland while seeing two girls topless tanning in the Ankorka in Szczecin. But, I think when you are at the normal beach, which is out of jurisdiction of some holiday hotel, you can topless tan.

I'm way more comfortable going topless when they're not too many people around and public beaches are usually crowded. I don't know the laws in Germany, but as long as nobody feels offended by your actions, you are allowed to go topless or fully nude on every beach in Denmark!

    Hi Laura!

Hey, don´t say this: I´m too shy to go topless at a public pool. When you´re not too shy for a nude beach and not too shy to go topless at a "normal" beach you´re not too shy to go topless at a public pool, too! And wearing one-piece-swimsuits is really no problem for going topless at the pool: roll it simply down after swimming - and that´s it. I bet you will enjoy it because you´re definetely a topless-goer as I´m one! Laura, you will see: After the first five uncomfortable minutes there will be no shyness anywhere. Not at the pool and not elsewhere.

The only reason I took my top off on the beach that is mentioned in this story was, because it was a private beach and we thought people wouldn't mind us doing that. One of the reasons I don't want to go topless on a public beach or public pool is, because I don't want guys staring at me with lustful eyes. If you're on a nude beach people don't care how you look, but if you show more skin than others in a public place you'll be ogled at a lot and that's something I try to avoid :)

    Hi Laura!

That sounds really possible! Btw:: Public beaches are in Germany topless (but not bottomless if it´s not a "FKK"-beach. Each swimming pool has its own rules - but most of them still allow toplessness. During the last years a backlash happened because toplessness declined unfortunately at German public swimming pools. I experienced it very often during the last years that the public swimming pool allowed toplessness and I had no problem to be topless - but that I was the single topless female there and insofar an "happening". I don´t care about this - but females who are more shy may become a problem with it.

Thanks for the information // Vielen Dank, dass Du fuer Aufklaerung gesorgt hast :) I've been to nude beaches but I guess I'm still one of the females that's too shy to go topless at a public pool. Couldn't do that anyway, because I'm wearing one-piece-swimsuits to the pool ;)

    Hi Laura!

I=m a German female and since many years always topless at a beach or a public swimming pool. I was very often at the German Baltic Sea coast . Openly said> I=ve never experienced something like that! Topless was always everywhere normalcy and at nearly every resort there you could find at least one nude beach, in German FKK No FKK means NOT keep your top on! You must have matched one of the worst places there! Private resorts like hotels have of course the right to set their own sunbathing rules, as public swimming pools have it, too. And of course cities and communities for their parks and meadows. But at public beaches the normal rule is that FKK means no top and no bottom and no nothing while no FKK means at least a bottom. Private resorts and public swimming pools have the right to exclude toplessness but they had to write it into their rules. May the nearby Polish border could have been a reason in this special case. Toplessness is much fewer common in Poland than in Germany. But this is of course only my speculation.

At the German Baltic coast you have the next beach with normal rules, i.e. where toplessness is allowed and more or less common, never far away, from Schleswig/Holstein down to the island of Usedom. And mostly you have the next FKK beach not far away, too, because FKK is a strong tourist issue there.

The lawyer speak in the rules of your hotel is of course very unfriendly especially to foreigners but unfortunately common. Such texts are often written in Germany from lawyers for lawyers and for judges. It is often necessary for Germans, too, that they were translated from lawyer speak into the German language. And for doing this you need than a lawyer which you have to pay for the service. So from my experiences it is the best way at private resorts simply to question before checking in if toplessness is allowed or not. And if not there should be no problem to find another place where it is allowed.

Didn't knew you could go topless at an public swimming pool in Germany, but you're right for noting that most beaches at the Baltic Sea in Germany at least allow to go topless. It was easy to find a nude beach close to the hotel so I don't think it had anything to do with it's close proximity to Poland. Our hotel was mostly frequented by older people and it was kind of high-class, so maybe some old, rich Germans don't like to look at nude people :D

I stayed in Cannes for several days last September, and went down to the beach, expecting to be able to ***** off! Then I found that the French authorities had banned nude bathers from Cannes, because they were walking around naked outside the limits of the tolerated nude beach!

However, what I did find was that there were about 2 women to every man, on the beach - and they were nearly all topless! [:-)

I laid down on my towel, surrounded by lovely women and girls, and then a German woman in her late 30's came and sat down right in front of me, directly in line with my vision (on purpose!).

She was lying down about 3 metres directly in front of me.

This woman then ******** down to her bikini bottom and proceeded to virtually ********** in front of me! I was utterly amazed! I have never encountered such a brazen display of "***** on heat" in all my life!

Her bikini bottom crotch became soaked with moisture as she proceeded to massage herself all over (making out she was applying suntan lotion), and I didn't know where to look!

If it was a nude beach, O.K., I would have been inside her in a flash - but this was a public textile beach, with hundreds of people within a few dozen metres, each direction!

I had to get up and leave, as I was becoming concerned that my huge erection was going to be more and more difficult to hide!

I don't know if every European beach is like this, but it certainly was an amazing experience!

Ahem.. to answer the question from your last sentence: No, not every European beach is like this. I do understand that you enjoyed watching her (pervert :D), but I would have been offended by it! I don't care if you're a male or a female, please ********** in the privacy of your own home and not on a public beach!

Oh dear! My girlfriend is half German and things like this make her so mad. No wonder German people have a reputation for going wild when they holiday in other countries. I'm glad the employee was so courteous in addressing you though. France is a much better country to go topless in - I think it's practically a constitutional right! If anyone is brave and hardy enough to ***** off on a north European beach, I think they should be applauded rather than told off and left be. The UK is quite a good place - you're generally not supposed to, but people usually regard it as more humorous than offensive. Mind you, there are usually only about four days in a year when it is warm enough for even me to bare myself there! :-)

I can't believe this story! A German resort that banned any kind of bare flesh display! What a bunch of prudes! This is the same nation known for FKK, nudity in public, nude beaches, nude sunbathing in parks, and regular sex orgies?? You must have discovered a resort run by some kind of German Puritans - you know, those people who are always suspicious, that someone, somewhere, is actually having fun! - and who needs to have that fun stopped immediately! [;-)

When was the last time you have been to Germany? :D You're right about nude beaches and FKK but as far as I know nude sunbathing in parks and nudity in public are only allowed in a handful of places.

    LauraDK,

Too bad your fun was spoiled but you did find a nude beach later. I really have a problem there since I no longer own a swimsuit.

At least the resort employee treated you with the respect and courtesy that you deserved. I wonder who complained though. I certainly wouldn't have. That is what dark shades come in handy for.

Of course my friend asked who had denounced us but he refused to give us their names. If it wasn't someone looking at the beach from inside the hotel (he would have needed watching glasses to see we were topless) or else it must have been one from the older couples in the beach chairs. But I don't blame them. We were the ones breaking the rules...

That is a cool story. Sucks that they used confusing words instead of the ones everyone would expect to see and know.

I have to admit they do the same in Denmark and nearly everywhere around the world. If someone is framing a rule he'll use the most complicated words he can find :D
