I Have Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome

Been Suffering For 4 Years Now...

I am a 30 yr-old female that was diagnosed w/ SMA syndrome in May 2010, after about a yr & 1/2 of extreme abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and continual weight loss (which only made things worse). It took three GI doc's b/f I found one who knew what was going on. I have had 2 surgeries. I actually started a blog to tell my story and hear about others. My "SMA syndrome" blog is at... smasyndromerollercoaster.blogspot.com... I would love to hear other people's stories who are suffering from this agonizing, draining illness. It is very hard and changes your whole life! I look forward to hearing from some of you!

    hi my name is makayla and i have sma and in my state noone knows of any surgeries that can fix my sma, the docs say it will never go away and its ruining my life....i need help.

    I am 34 and they just found it as well. I am going to try and gain some weight and be more active, etc. How are you doing now?

    It is very hard! I also have experienced the horrible pain of SMA. Its nice to know im not the only one.
