Short Term Trust

I don't usually have problems trusting people at the beginning, but I grow suspicious very easily and get convinced that everybody is hatching elaborate schemes to get at me personally, even though such fears may be irrational.

I think this stemmed from the fact that I had a friend who betrayed me when I was 9 - turning me from someone normal with friends to someone isolated and bullied by my schoolmates (which continued to my mid-teens).

Wow my story goes almost the same, but i was 7 when my frends turned against me. It turned me into stone (almost) literally. I really has bad "side-effects" in the future.

Hmm...I have just graduated and moved countries...and plan to move again in a year or so, so there's a distance issue here as well :P<br />

Nevertheless, I have found (a few) people I can trust here (but unfortunately they keep getting transferred :( )

I know how you feel. It's not easy to trust because there's not many out there who deserve it. But for the few who do earn trust, hang on to them. Know that there are some people out there worth trusting, if only you can find them.
