Ive Had A Total Large Bowel Removal And Still Have Ulcerative Colitis T

HI EVERYONE...MY NAME IS NICOLA...IM A 44 YEAR OLD SUFFERING FROM ULCERATICE COLITIS.
I HAD NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS UNTIL I WAS AROUN 40 YEARS OLD.
TYPICAL SYMPTOMS LIKE SEVERE DIAHREAH AND BLEEDING.
AFTER MANY MONTHS ON STEROIDS THE SYMPTOMS WERE GONE
UNTIL MANY MONTHS LATER ANOTHER ATTACK PUT ME IN HOSPITAL FOR NEARLY A WEEK.
I COULD FEEL THE WEIGHT PILLING ON BUT COULD DO NOTHING TO STOP IT.
MY SPECIALIST RECOMMENDED A TOTAL COLECTOMY OF THE LARGE BOWEL,
HE SAID IT WOULD MAKE ME BETTER.
I BELIEVED HIM SO WENT AHEAD WITH THE SURGERY. HE SAID I WOULDNT HAVE A BAG AND REATTACHED THE TWO ENDS TOGETHER.I WAS IN HOSPITAL FOR OVER 2 WEEKS. I WAS VERY SICK FROM THIS OPERATION. RETURNING HOME I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WOULD BE BETTER.
I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE CONSTANT DIAHRREAH BUT THIS WAS ONE OF THE DOWNFALLS OF NOT HAVING THE LARGE BOWEL TO REMOVE THE EXCESS WATER.
I WENT BACK TO STUDY AND WAS 6 MONTHS AWAY FROM A NURSING DIPLOMA WHEN I HAD ANOTHER SEVERE ATTACK.
PUT ON MORE STEROIDS AND NOW AZATHIOPRINE.
ITS BEEN 5 MONTHS NOW WITH REGULAR BLOOD TESTSAND SCANS .
PUT ON MORE WEIGHT, WHICH IS DEPRESSING IN ITS SELF.
CALLS FROM SPECIALISTS SAYING ITS THE MOST STUBBORN CASE HES SEEN.
HAVE BECOME DIABETIC DUE TO THE MEDICATION.
SO WHY DID I HAVE A COLECTOMY????
