Uti That Won't Go Away! :'(

I've been experiencing frequent and urgent urination for about a month now. My mom gave me some antibiotics that didn't work, so she took me to a doctor, who gave me a different type of antibiotic, but this one isn't working either.

My urine looks almost normal, and itt doesn't sting when I pee, but I find myself having to pee every 10 minutes at least! I have to pee before every class at school, and still feel the urge to go for most of each hour!

It's getting to the point where I don't even want to live anymore. It's pain and discomfort that is with me every second and it's clouding my thoughts. I'm doing everything I possibly can to get rid of it, but if anything, it's been getting worse. I'm so depressed and I can't sleep even though I'm so tired. I just want some relief from this persistent, dull, nagging pain. My friends are tired of hearing me complain about it, and my mom's sick of hearing me cry about it, but it's all I can think about.

Someone please help me! I don't know anyone who's experienced a UTI that just won't go away and I just want to know if there's someone else out there who's experiencing this chronic pain....

You must go back to your doctor asap and do a sample for him so he can send it to the hospital to see which antibiotic you actually need. In the meantime, drink lots of water. Take a level teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda or baking soda in a half pint glass of water two or three times a day to lower the acidity. A warm hot water bottle on your stomach and lower back should also help. Get an Angela Kilmartin book from Amazon. Please do all these things and soon before the infection goes to your kidneys.

Ive had it for about 4 months niw its horrable medecibe dont seem to work

You may want to investigate the possibility that this isn't a UTI. If you don't have a bacterial infection, and it's just chronic pain, that's what things like Percocet and Vicodin are for. It could be something a chronic bladder condition like IC (My mom has this). If it's a UTI, they can usually tell which antibiotic will work on whatever bacteria you have. The longer you let it go untreated, the higher risk of a kidney infection or other horrible things. Keep pestering the doctors until it gets fixed! Waiting for it to go away is almost always a bad idea!

I know exactly how you feel! I had it once for 2 and a half months before it started going.. try pure cranberry pills and unsweetened cranberry juice. it worked better for me than any medicine. as soon as it's gone, make sure you drink a glass of water and a glass of cranberry juice every morning as soon as you wake up.. thats helped keep it at bay for me for the past 8 months :) It was a horrible time, but it will end.. I promise you :)

YUP and it takes determination to get through it. You need to tell your mom it is not working. How long have you been on the new meds? If it has been more than 2-3 days you should have had some relief by now. I ended up having to get meds that had sulfa in them. My bladder would ache and had spasms of pain. So I understand. It took me about 4 months to get it under control. Now I KNOW what it feels like and at the slightest twinge, I get right in for the meds I need. The meds they give don't work for everyone and you will need to find the one that will work for you. To heck with your friends. If they lived through it they would whine and complain too. It is NOT fun. I had one that went clear up to my kidneys, I had a constant backache, could not sit or lay nothing. I was miserable, so hang in there and know that someone understands.
