I have been there with my grandmother... it was the worst day of my life...most of the family was there around her bed and she was hanging on for whatever reason... it was hard to watch, but finally my aunt told her it was ok to go now... and she did.... I burst into tears and ran out of the room... and I was in my 30's....

It is a hard thing, really, to watch someone die. I couldn't do it with my grandmother's. I believe they were waiting for those they wanted to see as they died.

As for my eighteen year old friend collapsing in the middle of a conversation, I never really knew what to make of that. As I was sixteen at the time, it really shook my world.

Four month's ago me , my mom and my aunt stood over the bed of my Grandpa who was dieing of lung cancer and watched him take his last breath. I cant even describe the feeling I had , but to be there in his last seconds meant a lot to me.
