Love At First Sight...

In the mid 1990s I had a roommate who kept hopping from one short-lived fling to the next, on an almost monthly basis. She suffered heartache after heartache. When I told her she was jumping into all these flings too fast and getting emotionally attached too quickly, she said, "I think there's something wrong if I don't feel love at first sight." Common sense told me she was totally out of her tree. And needless to say she eventually found lasting "love" in a scumbag who had financial problems and got arrested for shoplifting after they moved in together.

Years later I picked up a copy of "Are You The One For Me?" by Barbara DeAngelis, which waxes eloquent in the first chapter about how love is first sight is a misguided approach to dating...
