Oops, I Guess They Forgot About Us...Again



It appears that African Americans in Mississippi have been overlooked, but don't worry. It was a just a "procedural error". Really? Evidently, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution abolishing slavery was not officially ratified in the State of Mississippi until...NOW!

According to the article, (link below) Dr. Ranja Batra, an associate professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center looked into the issue after watching the Steven Spielberg movie "Lincoln".  The State of Mississippi ratified the amendment in 1995...Yes, I said it..1995.   Oops, Number one.  However, the final step of forwarding the paperwork to the National Archives was overlooked. Oops, number two!  I find it quite interesting something of this magnitude managed to "fall" through the cracks not once but twice? Hmmm...

Well, if you were a black corporation then you would have been ok, I mean corporations our people, right? And you know someone paid for the "Oversights"
